The Alta Sierra Property Owners Association is a community-based organization located in the foothills of Northern California. Not far away are the communities of Grass Valley and Nevada City, both part of Nevada County. The Association (A.S.P.O.A.), a not-for-profit organization made up of volunteers, has served the Alta Sierra community since 1971. It is governed by an elected Board of Directors, consisting of nine members and several standing committees, which establish and administer its policies and programs.
Wildlife Rehabilitation & Release (WR&R), a local nonprofit organization dedicated to helping wildlife, is holding their Annual Wildlife Training.

The ASPOA Board met on Jan 5, 2009 at the Alta Sierra Country Club in GrassValley.Mr Ed Scofield, our new District II Supervisor was in attendance.During the Board meeting he thanked the Board and all Alta Sierra residents for our support.He wants to attend as many ASPOA Board meetings as he can, and get to know all the local issues/concerns/problems.Continue Reading »
The ASPOA Board met on Dec 1, 2008 for an end-of-year luncheon meeting. Some new committee chairpersons were introduced. Details will appear in the next Alta Sierran. Some regular and new business was discussed and shortened meeting was adjourned.
The ASPOA Board of Directors has declared that Nominations are open for a position on the Board of Directors, and for Chairpersons and Members of 13 Standing Committees. Residents are requested to contact any member of the Board to assist for the ensuing terms, beginning in January, 2009. Elections will be held and appointments made at the December 1 ASPOA meeting. Our two beautiful new bronze stags that grace our upgraded entry at Alta Sierra and Hwy 49 have found a home and are happily settled in. Now they just need names to feel a real part of the community.
Please send in your creative ideas for their new names. The winner will have their picture taken with the “boys” and will appear in our next edition of the paper. Deadline to submit names is Oct 12.
The ASPOA Board met on Aug. 4, 2008 at the Alta Sierra Country Club in GrassValley.The next Board meeting will be held on the second Monday of September (9/8/08) instead of the first because of the Labor Day holiday.
