Our Mission
Alta Sierra Property Owners’ Association is an all volunteer, not-for-profit organization, charged with enforcing the CC&R’s and dedicated to advancing programs that make our Alta Sierra community attractive, safe, harmonious, and healthy for all residents.
Our Goals
The primary goals of ASPOA are: (1) To preserve the scenic beauty and unique character of Alta Sierra (2) To maintain property values (3) To represent the members before the Nevada County Board of Supervisors and other governmental agencies and businesses whenever a matter of importance to Alta Sierra is being considered.
Our Membership
Membership in the Association is open to owners of parcels in Alta Sierra Estates and Alta Sierra Ranches. Owners of parcels outside of Alta Sierra , but contiguous to its boundaries, may join with approval of the Board. Renters are eligible to join as Associate Members and enjoy the same benefits and privileges, except voting for the Board of Directors. Annual dues are $25.00.
Alta Sierra
Alta Sierra is a community of over 3000 homes nestled in the oaks, pines and cedars at approximately 2,000 feet elevation. It is situated just east of Highway 49 and five miles south of Grass Valley. It is a one hour drive to Sacramento and two hours to Reno and Lake Tahoe.
Alta Sierra was first developed in the early 1960s. Parcels were originally lot-sale only, with the purchasers constructing custom dwellings. Today, most of the parcels have been built upon. However, there many fine homes available on the resale market.
Weather
Average high temperatures in the summer are in the 80s and 90s. Winter average lows are in the 30s to 40s. Average rainfall is 46 inches. Snow may occur on-average once each season.

Elinor, the ASPOA deer removal program is limited to only deer on ASPOA members’ private property. If you are an ASPOA member and have a removal situation on your private property, call the county deer removal contractor at (866) 487-3323. Pay the contractor and mail your yellow invoice to Rich Daniels (our Treasurer), 11672 Ball Road. You may email him at rddaniels@theunion.net. NOTE: I have corrected the name of the recipient of yellow invoices above. I had the incorrect person’s name and address here before.
