Why do we have a community association?

The Alta Sierra Homeowners Association (ASPOA) is an incorporated entity which was created in 1971 to promote, preserve, and beautify the area referred to at that time as the Alta Sierra Development. Nearly 40 years old, the volunteer-run organization is also charged with the enforcement of deed restrictions.
The Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions (CC&R’s).
ASPOA has also incorporated the “Architectural Review Committee,” which was established by the State in 1968, to oversee the general quality of residences and grounds in the area.
ASPOA does not look for problems, but responds to concerns voiced by our residents. We have established communications with most County agencies to assist in regulating violations.
ASPOA has accepted the responsibilities of collecting debris from many of our roadways, of picking up deer carcasses, of removing yard waste to reduce fire hazards, of installing attractive entryways, of editing a monthly newspaper and Web site to support local communications, and providing other services that are enjoyed by our residents, whether members of ASPOA or not.
Directors and chairpersons meet on the first Monday of the month at the Alta Sierra Country Club conference room at 9 a.m. All residents are invited to participate.
