Kathy Carey February 4th, 2008
At the January 21 ASPOA Board of Directors meeting returning member Al Schafer was elevated to the position of President for 2008.
Jim Barrilleaux was elected to a 3-year term as Director. Joe Carman was re-elected to continue in a second term as an ASPOA Director. Jim has faithfully served as Chairman of the Fire Safety Committee for the past 3 years, and has accepted the Board position vacated by David Piazzese.
Retiring President, Joe Mayer, completed the 2005 term of his predecessor, and was re-elected in 2006 and 2007 to continue as President. He had previously served as ASPOA Treasurer for 2 years. Joe is retiring after 4 years of dedicated service to our community.
Al Schafer re-joined the Board in December, and was elected by his fellow ASPOA Directors to become President for this year. He served on the Board from 2000 through 2004, including 2 years as President. Al has been Chairman of the ASPOA Yard Waste Collection Program for the many of these past 7 years.
The remaining Executive Directors include Vice President Carol Baker, Secretary Karen Robins, and Treasurer Rich Daniels, all of whom have served for the previous year. The additional Directors-at-Large include Robert Labelle, Kathy Carey, and John Noone.
The 9 members of the ASPOA Board of Directors are supported by many Alta Sierra residents who contribute their energy to ASPOA committees such as Architectural Review, Community Standards, Roads & Traffic Safety, Trails & Recreation, Neighborhood Watch, and Youth Activities.
Your ASPOA serves Alta Sierra with over 4,150 residences utilizing volunteer resources. We are the second largest entity in western Nevada County, and can use your help. The Board meets on the first Monday of each month (unless we don’t have power, as in January) at 9 AM in the Conference Room at the Alta Sierra Country Club. Come, join us.
